Mayor Stanton to Present Export Awards at Global Links LuncheonMayor Stanton to Present Export Awards at Global Links Luncheon<div class="ExternalClassF0331E319DDA45E3AC845EE9C447CE49"><p>PHOENIX – Mayor Greg Stanton will present the Mayor's 2016 Export Awards at the Phoenix Sister Cities 17th Annual Global Links Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Phoenix Convention Center West Building, Rooms 106 A-C.  This year's Global Links topic will feature "The 411 on Cybersecurity" </p><p>Special guest speakers for this year's luncheon include Avnet Chief Information Officer Steve Phillips, Vice President & ID Theft Practice Leader at Merchants Information Solutions Mark Pribish, and FBI Senior Executive Consultant John Iannarelli.  Phillips will share his insights and practical tips on how businesses of all sizes can protect their information and technology (IT) assets from today's ever-changing cybersecurity threats, while Pribish will help educate and heighten awareness on the reality of identity theft, data breach risks and how they affect business. The final speaker, John Iannarelli, will discuss the biggest threats that are impacting small and medium size businesses in today's world.</p><p>Registration to attend the event is available online at phoenixsistercities.org for $55 for members and $60 for non-members.  Limited on-site registration is also available for $60 and $65 respectively.</p><p>The 2<sup>nd</sup> Annual Mayor's Export Awards will be presented at the event to recognize individuals and organizations that have made huge contributions to advancing exports, increasing awareness of exports and delivering important export support. </p><p>The Mayor's Export Awards reinforces the importance of exports by highlighting local export industry leaders.  Every year, 300,000 U.S. exporting companies, mostly Small/Medium Enterprises (SME's) employ more than 11M people and pay higher than average wages, contributing approximately 14% to the U.S. GDP.</p><p>The export awards serve to recognize contributions made in advancing the Phoenix export economy and show appreciation to Phoenix companies that have demonstrated export excellence.</p><p>The following awards will be presented this year…</p><p>Mayor's EXPORT CHAMPION OF THE YEAR Award: U.S. Commercial Service</p><p>This award is presented to a Phoenix person, team, company or organization that tirelessly promotes the value and importance of exports, constantly drives export awareness, advocates for sustained engagement on export related matters and activities and is a significant driver for regional alignment on export plans and programs.</p><p>Mayor's PRODUCT EXPORTER OF THE Year Award: ServerLift </p><p>Awarded to a Phoenix product producing company that has succeeded in establishing exports as a key component of its overall business. This company serves as a perfect example of what SME's are capable of when they make the serious and significant commitment to export their product and the realization of beneficial outcomes from having implemented a comprehensive export plan. This company serves as an inspiration to other product producing companies who aspire to similar export success.</p><p>Mayor's SERVICE EXPORTER OF THE Year Award: BeyondTrust </p><p>Presented to a Phoenix service delivery company that has succeeded in establishing exports as a key component of its overall business. Service exports continue to be the fastest growing segment of US exports. This company serves as a perfect example of what SME's are capable of when they make the serious and significant commitment to export their service and the realization of beneficial outcomes from having implemented a comprehensive export plan.
