Phoenix Sister Cities 2018 Youth Ambassador Exchange Program Now Accepting ApplicationsPhoenix Sister Cities 2018 Youth Ambassador Exchange Program Now Accepting Applications<div class="ExternalClass7A530ABE6C2A4A5EB5C3FDA376BD7D8E"><p>​Do you desire to see the world?  If so, where would you go?  Phoenix Sister Cities can help you get there!  Phoenix high school sophomores and juniors can apply for the Youth Ambassador Exchange Program to spend three weeks abroad with a host family in one of Phoenix's Sister Cities and welcome their international host brother or sister for a visit to Phoenix.  Applications are due at 5 p.m., Friday, Jan. 12, 2018.  </p><p>"The Ambassadors share memorable experiences that introduce them to different cultures and prepare them for the global society in which we live," said Phoenix Sister Cities President/CEO Rita Marko.   </p><p>The Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Exchange Program is open to Phoenix resident high school students entering their sophomore or junior year.  Participants are selected based on their communication skills, maturity, flexibility, leadership and desire for cultural inclusion.</p><p>Approximately 25 Phoenix Youth Ambassadors will be selected to travel to Phoenix's sister cities in the summer of 2018.  Participants will expand their knowledge by experiencing new cultures, learning international diplomacy and obtaining leadership skills. </p><p>Since 1988, more than 825 Phoenix students have participated in the Phoenix Sister Cities Youth Ambassador Exchange Program.  The privately funded program is solely supported by fundraisers and family contributions.  Applicants can apply for available scholarships. </p><p>Applications are available at <a href="http://www.phoenixsistercities.org/"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">www.phoenixsistercities.org</span></a>.  <strong>Interested applicants are invited to learn more about the program and meet past ambassadors at the Youth Ambassador Exchange Program Preview Night on Nov. 6 from 6 - 7:30 p.m., in the City Council Chambers, located at 200 W.
