Phoenix Chinese Week Celebrations Offer Cultural and Educational EventsPhoenix Chinese Week Celebrations Offer Cultural and Educational Events<div class="ExternalClassBA10C312A8BB4641A550466DD75E1014"><p>​</p><table width="100%" class="ms-rteTable-default" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr><td class="ms-rteTable-default" style="width:100%;"><p>     Phoenix Sister Cities, Taipei and Chengdu committees and the Phoenix Chinese Week Committee will celebrate Phoenix Chinese Week 2019 and Chinese New Year 4717, "The Year of the Boar," with cultural and educational events at a variety of Valley locations.  </p><p>     A free, three-day Chinese Culture and Cuisine Festival will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8; 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb 9; and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb 10; at Margaret T. Hance Park (East), 1202 N. Third St., Phoenix. </p><p>     The 29th annual festival features live entertainment including the dragon and lion dances, martial arts demonstrations, folk and traditional dances, musical performances, mahjong booth, Chinese calligraphy, Chinese costume photo booth (traditional Chinese costumes including costumes for pets), children's pavilion, Koi fish exhibit, Chop Stick Pick Up Contest, Chinese culture and history booth, photo exhibit and art gallery, delicious Chinese food and a beer garden (11 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Feb. 9-10).  Chinese Tea Ceremony demonstrations will be presented throughout the weekend.</p><p>     Other Phoenix Chinese Week events include a table tennis open, taijiquan and weiqi tournaments and a 10-course Chinese Lunar New Year Banquet at 6:30 p.m. (no-host cocktails, </p><p>6 p.m.) Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Great Wall Restaurant, 3446 W.
