City of Phoenix Announces Outstanding StudentsCity of Phoenix Announces Outstanding Students<div class="ExternalClass0C368F3D46884B83A435942D7E50ED98"><p>​Nineteen students attending Phoenix schools have been selected from dozens of applicants as the 2018 Outstanding Young Men/Young Women (OYMYW) of the Year.  </p><p>The OYMYW of the Year program recognizes and honors the outstanding achievements of students, enhances the perception of youth and raises community awareness of their positive contributions to society.</p><p>Each student applied for the award by submitting an application, essay, recommendation letter, and taking part on interviews.  Each district winner will receive $500 and is eligible to become the citywide winner.  The two overall winners will be awarded an additional $1,500 and will be recognized at an upcoming awards reception along with the district winners. </p><p>The 2018 OYMYW district winners are:</p><ul><li><div>District 1:Giselle Ruiz and Sohail Daulat</div></li><li><div>District 2:Rachel Hunt and Hayden Araza</div></li><li><div>District 3:Moriah Irving and Eric Brock</div></li><li><div>District 4:Irene Franco Rubio and Daniel Cruz</div></li><li><div>District 5:Isabelle Lukau, Martin Moreno and Alonso Trevizo </div></li><li><div>District 6:Gabrielle Swanton and Spencer Scher</div></li><li><div>District 7:Samantha Faria and Noah Nuez</div></li><li><div>District 8:Jennifer Garnica and Ivan Alexander<br></div></li></ul><p>The Maricopa County Bar Foundation honorary winners are:</p><ul><li><div>Olivia Pribble</div></li><li><div>Samuel Soto Diaz</div></li></ul><p style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Awards Reception:</strong></p><p><strong>WHEN: </strong>Noon - 1:30 p.m., Friday, April 20 (check-in at 11:30 a.m.)</p><p><strong>WHERE:</strong> Phoenix Country Club, 2901 N.
