Phoenix Earns Perfect Score for LGBTQ Inclusion Phoenix Earns Perfect Score for LGBTQ Inclusion <div class="ExternalClassCB159AF419F947A18C517D08604703DD"><p></p><table cellspacing="0" width="100%" class="ms-rteTable-default"><tbody><tr><td class="ms-rteTable-default" style="width:100%;"><table cellspacing="0" width="100%" class="ms-rteTable-default"><tbody><tr><td class="ms-rteTable-default" style="width:100%;"><p>The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) announced this morning that the city of Phoenix earned a perfect score for its ongoing efforts to ensure equal treatment of members of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community.</p><p>Phoenix was one of a record 78 cities to earn a perfect score of 100 out of the 506 cities evaluated in the 2018 Municipal Equality Index (MEI). </p><p>"Phoenix has maintained a perfect score since the expansion of the city's anti-discrimination ordinance in 2012," said Don Logan, Equal Opportunity Department Director.  "The ordinance makes it unlawful to discriminate against people based on sexual orientation, gender identity or disability in the areas of employment, public accommodations, housing and government contracts."</p><p>"This year's MEI again proves that there are no barriers to municipal LGBTQ equality for a city with dedicated, pro-equality elected officials," said HRC President Chad Griffin.</p><p>The HRC represents a force of more than three million members and supporters nationwide.
