Phoenix Names Nancy Allen New Environmental Programs AdministratorPhoenix Names Nancy Allen New Environmental Programs Administrator<div class="ExternalClassBE6ACDC49E284188ACB09F1331032110"><p><img src="/Media%20Assets/Nancy%20Allen%20Photo.jpg" alt="Nancy Allen, Environmental Programs Administrator" style="margin:5px;vertical-align:middle;width:260px;height:260px;" />​<br>The city of Phoenix has named Nancy Allen its Environmental Programs Administrator, overseeing the organization’s efforts in environmental protection and sustainability. <br></p><div>“Nancy’s experience is well-suited to Phoenix’s environmental challenges, as a large and fast-growing city committed to sustainable living and water conservation,” said Phoenix City Manager Ed Zuercher. “Her knowledge and vision will be invaluable as we meet the needs of our residents now and in the future.”</div><div><br></div><div>Allen comes to Phoenix after more than twenty-five years working in the environmental field, both in the public and private sectors, including seven years with the Tennessee National Guard. She has worked on a diverse array of salient issues, including hazardous waste management, wastewater, threatened and endangered species, groundwater, air quality, combustion and incineration, and remediation. During her time in the public sector, Nancy worked in the full scope of government rulemaking, permitting, enforcement, auditing and compliance.</div><div><br></div><div>“As a desert city, Phoenix brings challenges and opportunities from a sustainability perspective,” noted Allen. “I look forward to working with our entire organization to ensure that Phoenix is a national leader in sustainability and environmental stewardship.” <br></div><div><br></div><div>Most recently, Nancy was the Ecological Services Manager at a private consulting firm in Louisville, Kentucky. In that role she managed ecological and environmental services for the southeast region. </div><div><br></div><div>Nancy has a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences with an emphasis in chemistry, from the University of Tennessee, and a Master of Science in Engineering Technology focused on industrial safety, from Middle Tennessee State University. </div></div>7/2/2018 10:10:00 PMMatthew Heil602-534-0108
