College Depot Celebrates Fifth Anniversary and Announces Expanded ServiceCollege Depot Celebrates Fifth Anniversary and Announces Expanded Service<div class="ExternalClassA929F61B970D4A47912984B556BEA402"><p><strong>June 13, 2014</strong></p><p>Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton celebrated the fifth anniversary of College Depot, located on the second floor of Burton Barr Central Library at 1221 N. Central Ave. today.  He also announced the launch of ReEngage Phoenix, a service to connect adults and youth who have not received their GED or high school diploma with educational opportunities.  </p><p>"This new initiative will reach out to the one in five adults in metro Phoenix who do not work or attend school," Mayor Stanton explained.  "It is designed to help them re-engage with education, expanding their opportunities and furthering the economic growth of our community."</p><p>To support this new service, College Depot's space on the second floor of Central Library will be expanded.  An additional 675 square feet will provide offices and meeting space to support ReEngage Phoenix. </p><p>College Depot is a full-service college planning center that offers free one-on-one assistance, family consultation and workshops on all aspects of the college planning process, from financial aid to career exploration.  The service is open to anyone seeking assistance with planning for college.</p><p>Since its opening in 2009, College Depot has helped more than 14,000 people plan for college.  An additional 21,000 students and their families have benefitted from College Depot outreach programs.</p><p>For a complete list of workshops and events, visit <a href="http://www.phoenixpubliclibrary.org/collegedepot"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">phoenixpubliclibrary.org/collegedepot</span></a>.  Follow us at <a href="http://www.twitter.com/CollegeDepot"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">twitter.com/CollegeDepot</span></a>.</p></div>6/13/2014 10:40:00 PMKarl Kendall602-534-9152
