Mayor Williams to Hold Shred-A-Thon and Drug Take Back EventMayor Williams to Hold Shred-A-Thon and Drug Take Back Event<div class="ExternalClass7FF4803B1BDE440C8311E8A9DBB0FAC2">PHOENIX – Residents are encouraged to attend a free shred-a-thon and drug take back event this Saturday, hosted by Mayor and District 1 Councilwoman Thelda Williams, the Black Mountain Police Precinct and the Deer Valley Community Center.<br><br>The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 15, at the Deer Valley Community Center located at 2001 W. Wahalla Lane, Phoenix, AZ 85027.  <br><br>The take back event allows residents to properly dispose of personal documents and drugs to prevent misuse from these sensitive materials falling into the wrong hands. <br><br>One of the best ways to protect from identity theft is to shred personal documents. Residents are encouraged to bring old bills, files, bank statements, tax returns older than seven years, and other documents containing personal identifying information to shred. Documents will be collected on site, locked in bins and shredded by our document destruction contractor at their secure facility.
