Williams Statement on Arizona Legislature Approving Colorado River Drought Contingency PlanWilliams Statement on Arizona Legislature Approving Colorado River Drought Contingency Plan<div class="ExternalClassA31B7AD391A44BB4B3C61DABFB360581">PHOENIX – Mayor Thelda Williams released the following statement following the Arizona State Legislature approval of the Drought Contingency Plan:<br><br>“Today, the State Legislature approved the Drought Contingency Plan, setting the stage for a more secure water future for all Arizonans. <br><br>I appreciate the leadership of Governor Ducey, Speaker Bowers, Arizona legislators, Governor Lewis of the Gila River Indian Community, the Arizona Department of Water Resources, and the Central Arizona Project who have all worked with stakeholders for months to develop a strategy for implementing this plan in Arizona.<br><br>We took a major step forward today, but our work on the Colorado River is not done.
