Mayor Kate Gallego Names Lisa Fernandez as Chief of StaffMayor Kate Gallego Names Lisa Fernandez as Chief of Staff<div class="ExternalClass22D6D7B73AEA4897B74DFBC44679B433"><p style="text-align:center;"><span style="font-size:17.3333px;">​</span><em style="font-size:17.3333px;">Gallego Longtime Aide Tapped for Top Position in Mayor's Office</em><br></p><p>PHOENIX – Mayor Kate Gallego announces her first key hire as Mayor, naming Lisa Fernandez as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Mayor. <br></p><p>"Lisa has remained a trusted advisor of mine since my first campaign for city council 6 years ago.  She shares my vision for an inclusive, innovative Phoenix that works for everyone, and she has the know-how to help me implement it," said Mayor Gallego <br></p><p>Prior to being hired in the Mayor's office, Fernandez was Vice President at Resolute Consulting, a public affairs and strategic communications firm, providing counsel to businesses and organizations on high-level strategic planning, as well as developing and implementing communication and outreach campaigns.  During her time at Resolute, Fernandez worked on a number of environmental, transportation, and infrastructure projects including the Phoenix light rail campaign. <br></p><p>Last year Fernandez was named one of the "best and brightest campaign professionals under 40" by the American Association of Political Consultants. <br></p><p>"I'm excited to serve Mayor Gallego and the city in this new role, to help her build a team of dedicated public servants and execute her agenda to keep Phoenix one of the most dynamic and vibrant cities in America," said Fernandez.<br></p><p>Fernandez has earned her reputation for excellence through nearly a decade of managing campaigns, fundraising and strategic communications in Arizona and across the country.  Fernandez ran Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton's 2015 re-election effort and served as an advisor to his successful 2018 Congressional race.  She also advised for a number of other elected officials across the state including U.S. Rep. Ruben Gallego and U.S. Rep.
