Phoenix Offering Family Events to Celebrate Independence DayPhoenix Offering Family Events to Celebrate Independence Day<div class="ExternalClass3B52415C98094A64B3070EF530324EE0"><p></p><p>The city of Phoenix will present three free events in the coming days to help families celebrate Independence Day. <a href="/parks/special-events/fabphx4" target="_blank">View details and know-before-you-go information about each event</a>.</p><p>Fabulous Phoenix 4th is the city's signature Independence Day event and annually attracts more than 100,000 people to Steele Indian School Park, 3rd Street and Indian School Road. Festivities for the 32nd annual event start at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4 and run until 10 p.m. One of the largest fireworks displays in the Southwest is scheduled to begin at approximately 9:30 p.m.</p><p>The non-alcoholic event will feature entertainment on two stages, a variety of food and beverage options for purchase, interactive exhibits, a classic car show, and rides and inflatables for kids. Free public parking is not available at Steele Indian School Park for this event and attendees are encouraged to avoid traffic and parking congestion by using Valley Metro Light Rail. <a href="/parks/special-events/fabphx4/parking" target="_blank">View additional event parking and public transit information</a>.</p><p>On Saturday, July 1, the first-ever Desert Ridge Fireworks Independence Day Celebration will be held at Reach 11 Sports Complex, 2425 E. Deer Valley Road. The event is being produced through a partnership with Desert Ridge Community Association, and runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m., with a fireworks show starting at approximately 9 p.m. Concessions, including shaved ice, snow cones, hot dogs and beverages, will be available for purchase.</p><p>On Monday, July 3, the long-running Light Up the Sky event will be held at Maryvale Baseball Park, 3600 N. 51st Avenue, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. A fireworks display is set to begin at approximately 9:10 p.m. This 30-plus year event will feature live entertainment, interactive exhibits, inflatable fun zone for kids, local sports mascots, and food and drink for purchase.</p><p>These are rain or shine events. In the event of severe weather, activities will be delayed until bad weather clears.
