City Trailhead, Museum Receive Environmental Excellence AwardCity Trailhead, Museum Receive Environmental Excellence Award<div class="ExternalClassDB2D272561BE4DE894B1141932F63EFE"><p>​The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department's Desert Hills Trailhead and Pueblo Grande Museum were recognized at the 37th annual <a href="https://www.arizonaforward.org/">Arizona Forward</a> Environmental Excellence Awards on Sept. 23. In all, <a href="/news/mayor/1847" target="_blank">the city received nine awards, including four Crescordia Awards, the highest honor in each category</a>.</p><p>Desert Foothills Trailhead, which reopened in May 2016 after an extensive renovation, earned the Crescordia Award in the category of parks and trails site development. The trailhead is located in Phoenix's <a href="/parks/trails/locations/sonoran-preserve" target="_blank">Sonoran Preserve</a>.</p><p><a href="/parks/arts-culture-history/pueblo-grande/" target="_blank">Pueblo Grande Museum</a> was given an award of merit in the category of art in public places for Passage, an entrance portal that was <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WXaLwWgVkVY" target="_blank">unveiled and dedicated in January 2016</a>.
