Pinnacle Dog Park Opens in North PhoenixPinnacle Dog Park Opens in North Phoenix<div class="ExternalClassFB0EBC12CCA049D0BB0E88420F86E650"><p>​The Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department celebrated the grand opening of Pinnacle Dog Park on Thursday. Vice Mayor Jim Waring joined community members, representatives from the Desert Ridge Community Association and city staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Located at 20900 N. Black Mountain Blvd., this is the city's 12th dog park. <a href="/parks/parks/dog-parks">View a complete listing of city dog parks</a>. </p><p>Funded by the voter-approved Phoenix Parks and Preserve Initiative (PPPI) and impact fees, Pinnacle Dog Park is three acres and features separate fenced areas for large and small dogs, and a third section that can be rotated into use when another area needs to be closed for maintenance. Amenities also include shade trees, turf and decomposed granite surfaces, drinking fountains, ramadas, benches and LED lighting.</p><p>The dog park is the first phase of developing Pinnacle Park. Currently in design, the second phase will include two lit multi-use sports fields, restrooms and other amenities.
