New Lawn Game Amenities Unveiled in University ParkNew Lawn Game Amenities Unveiled in University Park<div class="ExternalClassB550565B69D2472682DE0F735616B78C"><p>​Community members joined City of Phoenix staff to celebrate the unveiling of new permanent lawn games in University Park on Saturday.</p><p>The lawn games include bocce ball, tetherball, four square and cornhole. Construction of these amenities was made possible thanks to a $26,000 “Connecting Communities Through Outdoor Play" grant, supported by the Target Corporation and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA).</p><p>Saturday's celebration included lessons for families to explain how to play the lawn games, live music and a performance by folklorico dancers.</p><p>The lawn games enhance existing park amenities that feature lighted basketball and volleyball courts, a playground with shade structure, ramada, grill and picnic space. University Park also is home to the Arizona Diamondbacks' Justin Upton Field for youth baseball as well as a recreation center and pool.</p></div>4/6/2019 8:00:00 PMParks and Recreation Department602-262-6862
