Phoenix to Celebrate City Council Inauguration Jan. 2 at Orpheum TheaterPhoenix to Celebrate City Council Inauguration Jan. 2 at Orpheum Theater<div class="ExternalClassE60BDEA34115475881A7F30AA7A46CBD"><p>​The public is invited to attend the inauguration ceremony for the Phoenix City Council at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Orpheum Theater, located at 203 W. Adams St. </p><p>Four councilmembers were re-elected in August: District 2 Councilman Jim Waring; Vice Mayor Laura Pastor representing District 4; District 6 Councilman Sal DiCiccio; and District 8 Councilwoman Kate Gallego. The four councilmembers will take their oath of office and be sworn in by Chief Presiding Judge B. Don Taylor III. Following the swearing in ceremonies, each councilmember will give brief remarks.<br></p><p>The ceremony will also include the Maryvale High School Choir and the Phoenix Police and Fire Honor Guard. The invocation will be given by Dr. Jannah Scott of the Arizona Faith Network. The benediction will be given by Rabbi John Linder of Temple Solel. <br></p><p>The ceremony will be streamed live via the city Facebook page. Residents may also track the inauguration on social media with the hashtag PHX2018.
