Valley Metro Service Improvements to Enhance Connections for RidersValley Metro Service Improvements to Enhance Connections for Riders<div class="ExternalClass0E57C8F44FDD4C469E6C9989A126CD3C"><p><em style="line-height:1.6;">Riders encouraged to provide input on first round of T2050 service upgrades</em></p><p>Valley Metro bus service improvements take effect on April 25, making it easier for riders to connect with employment, education and entertainment destinations. Among the service enhancements is increased frequency on Route 72 – Scottsdale/Rural. Buses will run every 10 minutes from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays between the Tempe Transportation Center and Camelback Road.</p><p>"The improved frequency of Route 72 will connect riders to key destinations such as ASU Tempe, ASU SkySong and Scottsdale Fashion Square," said Scottsdale Councilmember and Valley Metro Board Treasurer Suzanne Klapp. "The increased frequency will also provide improved connection to Valley Metro Rail for downtown Scottsdale and north Tempe residents."</p><p>Riders in Phoenix will have an additional connection to Valley Metro Rail with the new Route 32 – 32nd Street, which will provide service from Camelback Road to the 44th St/Washington rail station. As a result of Transportation 2050 (T2050), 44 Phoenix bus routes are scheduled to expand hours of service and increase frequency to a minimum of 30 minutes. </p><p>"The addition of Route 32 is the first expansion of bus service since the residents of Phoenix approved the T2050 plan, but this is just the beginning," said Maria Hyatt, City of Phoenix Public Transit Director. "In October, we take a huge step with the system-wide expansion of hours and improved frequency on all of the bus routes Phoenix operates.
