The revised proposal includes keeping the two westbound vehicular-travel lanes to correspond with the higher daily traffic volumes and the removal of one eastbound vehicular-travel lane to allow the roadway to be repurposed to include bike lanes.

These design elements would help create a safer environment for all users of the roadway, add greater connectivity to area activity centers and improve bicycle lane connectivity. The modifications would provide a more effective use of the street by adding another transportation option for area residents. The proposed bike lanes connect to existing bike lanes on Osborn Road east of 19th Avenue and existing bike lanes on 15th Avenue.

The proposed striping plans and other supporting information for this project will be made available at the August 4 meeting.

These proposed modifications are programmed to be completed as part of a planned pavement overlay project that will take place in fall 2018 or spring 2019.

For more information about this project, visit the project webpage at phoenix.gov/streets/OsbornRoad.

If you have questions or comments, please contact Mark Melnychenko, Street Transportation Department, deputy director at 602-262-6284 or email OsbornRoad@phoenix.gov.

7/5/2018 5:00:00 PMMonica Hernandez 602-350-8853Mark Melnychenko 602-262-6284
