Statement from Councilman Nowakowski on Phoenix’s Public Wi-Fi Expansionhttps://www.phoenix.gov/newsroom/district-7/1550City Council District 710/5/2020 7:00:00 PMhttps://www.phoenix.gov/newssite/Lists/NewsArticle/Attachments/1550/Newsroom_Council_Statement_07.jpgStatement from Councilman Nowakowski on Phoenix’s Public Wi-Fi Expansion

“Accessible Wi-Fi, especially during the COVID-19 crisis is vital for our residents, especially those with children navigating through online schooling. Earlier this year, my colleagues and I approved funding to expand the city's public Wi-Fi network to provide free, extended coverage at city facilities. This coverage will go beyond the buildings into the parking lots and public areas and will be available daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. The additional internet access for low income families will not only help parents with online medical appointments but will also allow their children the same schooling opportunity as those who already have reliable access.

I am very proud of the city staff who worked tirelessly this summer to make this possible, and hope this service provides some relief to families. I will continue to work with staff to expand Wi-Fi services and provide additional resources to families and residents."

City of Phoenix facilities offering free Wi-Fi in District 7 are:
