School Tours

If you have not visited Pueblo Grande in the past we recommend that you pre-visit the museum, prior to bringing your class for a tour. Please print this Educator Invitation Letter for complimentary admission.

School Tour Rates

Student: $1.00 each (Title 1 students free)
Teachers/Chaperones: Free
Craft: $1 per student, see Teacher's Packet
Activity: Additional fee per student varies, see Teacher's Packet

Scheduling A Tour

Beginning September 1, schedule a pre-k through 12th grade school tour at least two weeks in advance (However we do book quickly so please call early for your choice of dates!)

  • School tours are available Monday through Friday at 9:30 a.m. October through April
  • Maximum of 60 children allowed per tour
  • One chaperone per every seven children recommended
  • Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for your visit
  • Special programs may be arranged in advance, see Teacher's Packet
  • Tour guides are not guaranteed! All our tour guides are volunteers, donating their personal time.

For college group tours, school tour groups larger than 60 students, or requiring an alternate tour time, please contact the Visitor Services Supervisor at (602) 495-0901.

Group Tours

Discounted rates are available for groups of 10 or more, booking at least two weeks in advance, and paying for the group in one transaction.  Accepted methods of payment include cash, credit card, and check. If paying with cash, please have all monies collected before payment.

Seniors: $4.00
Children: $2.40
Under 6 years: Free

During our summer months, May through September, due to limited staff, volunteers, and extreme weather conditions, we are unable to offer guided tours of the archaeological site. Groups are still welcome to visit the museum and site during this time on a self-guided tour.
