FitPHX Energy Zones are fun places for tweens and teens to play games, get yummy snacks, check out video games and mobile apps and learn with friends about how to be healthy. ASU students studying health are site mentors. Participants even get to use a personal activity monitor to "score points" while being active!
Energy Zones are at Harmon Library/Harmon Park in south Phoenix and Maryvale Community Center/Palo Verde Library in west Phoenix. FitPHX, ASU-Mayo Clinic Obesity Solutions and the Maricopa County Department of Public Health have partnered to bring Energy Zones to the community. The NFL Foundation recently awarded FitPHX Energy Zones a Super Bowl Legacy Grant to support the program, and a site is being added at Yucca Library/Solano Park in fall 2015.
