How do I get to the park and where can I park? The park is located at 3rd Street and Indian School. The park's three entrances are on Central Avenue, Indian School Road and 7th Street. View this location map for details. Also consider taking Valley Metro Light Rail to avoid event traffic. The Indian School Road/Central and Campbell/Central Avenue stations (stations 5 and 6 on the station map) are a short walk from the park's Central Avenue entrance. Metro Light Rail will be offering enhanced service on the 4th, running trains every 10 minutes. There is no on-site parking for this event. Parking is often available in public pay garages and lots and on street though there is restricted parking in many areas.
Are personal or consumer fireworks allowed at the event? No, consumer fireworks are not allowed at Fabulous Phoenix 4th.
Is there an admission fee?
Admission is free. Several vendors will be selling a variety of food and beverages at the event.
Are there rides for kids?
In the Kids World, kids can enjoy inflatable rides.
Can I bring a cooler to the event?
Yes. You also can bring backpacks, bags and other carry ins. However, alcoholic beverages and glass containers are prohibited.
What items can I NOT bring to the event?
Items you can not bring include fold-out tables, personal fireworks, barbecue grills, glass bottles, alcohol, contraband, pets, laser pointers, skateboards, inline skates, and kites. Also, due to the large crowds, fishing also is not allowed during the event. Portable shade devices must be taken down at sunset.
What should I bring to the event?
Lots of cold water! Though water will be available at the event site, having an ample supply of cold water with you will make it easier to keep drinking at stay hydrated. For extra cold water, fill your jugs or water bottles halfway the day prior to the event and stick them in the freezer. Then pull them out and fill them with cold water just before you leave for the event.
Is there alcohol at the event?
No, the event is alcohol free.
Do I need to arrive early to get a good seat?
Steele Indian School Park is a great venue for viewing fireworks, and there isn't a bad seat in the house. So there's no need to arrive early to snag a good viewing spot. Entertainment starts at 6 p.m. and people wanting a sort near the stage often arrive prior to the event's start.
Where is the closest parking if I need disabled-accessible parking?
METRO Light Rail, which stops at the park, is fully accessible, including ample disabled-accessible parking spots at park-n-ride lots. There will be a LIMITED AMOUNT OF FREE parking, (available on a first come, first served basis) including spots for people with disabilities, at the adjoining Veteran's Administration Hospital at 7th Street and Indian School Road.
Several public pay parking lots in the area also offer disabled-accessible parking spots. There is no public parking at the event site.
Can I bring my dog to the event?
Service and assist animals are welcome, however, for both your dog's protection and for the public's safety, you should leave your pets at home. The noise from fireworks displays is extremely stressful for many dogs and can cause them to behave unpredictably, threatening the safety of dogs and the people around them. The park's dog park will be closed the entire week prior to the event.
