Parking for Media Events

The city department hosting a "live shot," news conference or media event involving special parking needs will work with the media through the department's public information officer to establish a safe area to park.

Media not requiring the establishment of a "live shot" signal are advised to park at a meter or in a public parking garage; posted rates and parking laws are enforced.

For other media parking requests, please contact us at 602-262-7177.

Media Requests for Parking Meter Hooding and Street Restrictions

Requests for parking meter hooding, including street restrictions and closures, need to be coordinated directly through the Street Transportation Department’s Right-of-Way Management Section. Requests must be submitted 48 hours in advance of the day you wish to have the parking meter(s) hooded for your use or street restrictions in place. The cost for hooding a parking meter is $10 per day. Please note this fee also applies during holidays and weekends. A $35 fee application fee for each meter block being used also applies. Please contact the Right-of-Way Management Section to coordinate your requests at 602-262-6235 or via email at rmp@phoenix.gov.
