Changes in collection day only occurs on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and New Year's Day. During the rest of the holidays, Public Works staff will be working to collect your trash and recycling as regularly scheduled.

Holidays with a Change in Collection Day:

  • Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018
    • Thursday's collection moves to Friday, Nov. 23, and Friday's collection moves to Saturday, Nov. 24.
  • Christmas Day, Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2018
    • Every collection day moves one day later (e.g.: Tuesday collection moves to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday... Friday to Saturday)
  • New Year's Day, Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2019
    • Every collection day moves one day later (e.g.: Tuesday's collection moves to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday... Friday to Saturday)

Holidays with NO Change in Collection Day

As a reminder, Public Works staff will be working to collect trash and recycling as regularly scheduled for the following holidays (no change in collection day), but city disposal facilities will be closed to the public: 

  • Martin Luther King Day (Monday, January 15, 2018)
  • Presidents Day (Monday, February 19, 2018)
  • Cesar Chavez Day (Friday, March 30, 2018)
  • Memorial Day (Monday, May 28, 2018)
  • Independence Day (Wednesday, July 4, 2018)
  • Labor Day (Monday, September 3, 2018)
  • Veterans Day (Monday, November 12, 2018)
