Cardboard and Carton Recycling

Cartons are recyclable in Phoenix and throughout the United States. When you put your cartons in the recycling bin, you are doing a lot more than keeping them out of landfills – you are contributing to a new product, conserving energy, and protecting the environment. Cartons become paper toilets, napkins, tissue paper, and more. By purchasing products with recycled content, you are generating the demand for recycled materials, which increases your impact even further.

How do I recycle cardboard boxes?

If you have a small quantity of cardboard, you can place it in your Phoenix Recycles blue container. Please flatten the boxes to fit in your blue container loosely.

If you have a large quantity of cardboard boxes, please flatten all boxes, remove any packing materials and call Solid Waste Customer Service at 602-262-7251. You will be asked to estimate the quantity of boxes you have. This will help determine what kind of equipment is needed to pick up the load. There is no additional fee for this pick up service.
