Call for Interest 2017: Affordable Rental HousingCall for Interest 2017: Affordable Rental Housing<div class="ExternalClassCC8A558366294B1386BF969413C44B21"><p style="text-align:center;"><strong>Proposals of Acquisition/Rehabilitation or New Construction of Affordable Housing for Special Needs or Homeless Populations:</strong></p><p style="text-align:center;">Release date:  November 3, 2017</p><p style="text-align:center;">Submission deadline:  2 p.m. (Phoenix time) January 12, 2018</p><p style="text-align:center;"> </p><p>In releasing this Call for Interest (CFI), the City of Phoenix Housing Department (HD) intends to facilitate acquisition, construction and/or rehabilitation of affordable housing to serve homeless or special needs populations by providing financing at very low interest rates or through forgivable notes.  On November 1, 2017, the Phoenix City Council approved housing for homeless populations, special needs populations and projects submitted by eligible Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDO) as priorities for housing resources.</p><p>HD expects its loans to be leveraged with other resources that may include private equity, loans from lending institutions and/or funds from federal, state or local programs; such as Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax-Exempt Multifamily Housing Revenue Bonds, Supportive Housing Programs, Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program and/or the Arizona Housing Trust Fund.  Qualified non-profit and for-profit developers who can demonstrate their ability to acquire, construct and/or rehabilitate and operate affordable housing developments for homeless and/or special needs populations, and CHDOs are encouraged to respond to this CFI.</p><p> </p><p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Submittal deadline is 2 p.m. (Phoenix time) Friday, January 12, 2018</strong></span></p><p> </p><p>Interested respondents may download the complete solicitation from the City's website at phoenix.gov/rfp.  Internet access is available at all public libraries.  Any interested respondents without internet access may obtain this solicitation in print by calling 602-262-6291 to request a copy to be picked up during regular business hours at the City of Phoenix Housing Department, 251 W.
