​About the Project

The purpose of this project is to determine which streets are the best routes for people walking, riding bicycles, riding scooters, and driving wheelchairs to safely, conveniently, and comfortably travel to and between downtown destinations, including connections to other City of Phoenix projects on 3rd Street. There will be recommendations for how these streets should be improved. This study will synchronize with T2050 Mobility, Road Safety Action Plan, CED's Downtown Parking Study, TOD, the Walkable Urban Code, 3rd Street Rio Salado project, and 3rd Street Promenade project.


Goals of the Project

The goals include to evaluate and recommend efficient and safe north-south active transportation routes and 30% facility design for the necessary infrastructure in the area between 3rd Street, Roosevelt Street, 3rd Street, and Lincoln Street.

Project Schedule

NTP is expected in mid-July; the study will be conducted over a 12-month period.
