About the Project
The purpose of this project is to determine which streets are the best routes for people walking, riding bicycles, riding scooters, and driving wheelchairs to safely, conveniently, and comfortably travel to and between downtown destinations, including connections to other City of Phoenix projects on 3rd Street. The study will recommend active transportation and safety improvements on the recommended street(s). The study results and recommendations will synchronize with the T2050 Mobility Improvements Program, Road Safety Action Plan, Downtown Parking Study, Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Strategic Policy Framework, and Walkable Urban Code. Recommended projects could create connections to the 3rd Street Rio Salado to Lincoln Bike-Ped, 3rd Street Promenade, and Durango Street Mobility LID projects.
