The Phoenix Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

In 2004, The Phoenix Fire CERT program was created under the Homeland Defense Bureau (HDB). Since the first class, CERT has taught 220 classes to over 3,400 citizens. CERT trains the community in preparedness, first aid, search and rescue, and resiliency. CERT volunteers have the opportunity to help educate and serve the community and work side by side in support of public safety.

It is the belief of the CERT Program that a trained and prepared citizen is a part of the solution, not part of the problem.
