  • 11,420​ student at the Downtown Phoenix Campus
  • The Thunderbird School of Global Management has moved to Downtown Phoenix. The school will be housed in a new building slated to open in January 2021.

Local Entrepreneurial Efforts:

  • ASU is known for its approach to growing an entrepreneurial enterprise within a public university system.
  • ASU was ranked #1 in the U.S. 4 years in a row for Innovation by U.S.News & World Report, ahead of Stanford and MIT.

  • Downtown degree programs include Eller College Executive and Evening MBA, UA College of Medicine at Phoenix Biomedical Campus.
  • UA Cancer Center at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s opened in Fall 2015.

  • The McGuire Entrepreneurship Program at the main campus in Tucson is a globally recognized program open to UA undergraduate and graduate students.
  • University of Arizona’s undergraduate McGuire Entrepreneurship Program is ranked No. 8 by U.S. News & World Report (2020).​

Northern Arizona University

  • Northern Arizona University is partnering with the University of Arizona to allow students to reap the benefits of the Phoenix Biomedical Campus (PBC).

  • Northern Arizona Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology fosters business growth and economic vitality.
  • NACET's powerful program matches entrepreneurs, startups and growing companies with resources.

Grand Canyon University​​

In Phoenix:

  • GCU offers online and campus-based degree programs for both traditional students as well as working professionals.
  • GCU is expanding with new dorms, classrooms, and student recreation center.

Local Entrepreneurial Efforts:

  • IDEA Club at GCU sponsors a Shark Tank inspired entrepreneurship event called First Tuesday Marketplace. Every three weeks student entrepreneurs have the opportunity to pitch their ideas in the Colangelo College of Business Lecture hall.

Maricopa Community Colleges

  • The 10 Maricopa Community Colleges support the economic needs of Arizona and the Greater Phoenix area by providing degree and workforce training programs in response to the needs of the community.

Local Entrepreneurial Efforts:

  • At Gateway Community College campus, the Center for Entrepreneurial Innovation (CEI), is a comprehensive business incubator centrally located in Phoenix, providing  services, space and support critical to the development of these early-stage and startup companies.
