LOCAL & STATE RESOURCES

Arizona Commission on the Arts: Through its Arts Learning programs, the Arizona Commission on the Arts supports a wide range of arts learning activities taking place in a variety of settings and formats. Grants and resources are available to arts and community organizations, schools, educators, teaching artists and more, in support of learning in, through and about the arts. 

A​rtability: an organization that acts as a bridge between arts organizations and the disability community by providing technical advice and information on developing and promoting accessible events and spaces.​

Business Volunteers for the Arts: a volunteer matching program that pairs business professionals with arts organizations in many disciplines to accomplish skills-based consulting projects. The program helps business volunteers channel their expertise into projects that help arts organizations improve their business practices and succeed in fulfilling their mission.

Libraries: a directory of 17 City of Phoenix libraries, contact numbers and hours of operation.

Valley Metro School Outreach Program: Use Valley​ Metro local service as your transportation option on field trips. Students in preschool through 8th grade who are traveling with their teachers are eligible for a free all-day field trip pass from Valley Metro. To plan your trip, call the field trip planning office at 602-253-5000.​

Americans for the Arts:a national nonprofit organization that works to advance the arts in America, offers numerous arts education resources you need to make the case for the arts—in school and after—including research, toolkits, and examples of exemplary programs.​

Art Schools & Colleges, Accredited Schools Online​: In this guide, prospective art students can find comprehensive information on how to choose the best art school, the various types of art degrees available, and which careers they can expect to enter post graduation.

Click2Science:The foundation of Click2Science is it’s 20 Essential Skills, those skills that we believe are necessary to implement science effectively in out-of-school time settings. Click2Science is an indispensable resources for staff working directly with youth and for coaches and trainers working with staff.​

National Endowment for the Arts: Established by Congress in 1965 as an independent agency of the federal government. To date, the NEA has awarded more than $4 billion to support artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. The NEA extends its work through partnerships with state arts agencies, local leaders, other federal agencies, and the philanthropic sector.

National Art Education Association: Promotes art education through professional development, service, advancement of knowledge, and leadership.

National Assembly of State Arts Agencies: By supporting arts education, state arts agencies help to foster young imaginations and facilitate children's success in school. Arts education also provides the critical thinking, communications and creativity skills essential to 21st century success.

Kennedy Center Alliance for Arts Education: (KCAAEN) is a coalition of statewide non-profit Alliances for Arts Education working in partnership with the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts to support policies, practices, programs, and partnerships that ensure the arts are an essential part of American K-12 education.

Strategic National Arts Alumni Project: SNAAP is an annual online survey, data management and institutional improvement system designed to enhance the impact of arts-school education.
