The Phoenix Police Department Commendation/Complaint Process

The Equal Opportunity and Police Departments work together to provide city residents the opportunity to commend city police officers or file a complaint about police service provided to them. 

When complaints or commendations are made to the Equal Opportunity Department, they are sent to the Police Department's Professional Standards Bureau. Complaints may be received from people directly involved in an incident, witnesses, friends or relatives of those involved and from community groups. 

If a resident has a commendation or complaint, the resident may report it to the Equal Opportunity Department Compliance & Enforcement Division in person or by letter, email or telephone:
