Micah Maani

Bahá’í World Centre, Office of Financial Affairs

Micah served as a HandsOn AmeriCorps VISTA with the City of Phoenix Housing Department from April 2018 through April 2019, supporting the Edison-Eastlake Choice Neighborhoods Initiative.  In July 2018, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded the City of Phoenix Housing Department a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods grant. As a VISTA member, Micah served with the Housing Department in various capacities related to the implementation of this grant.  In addition, he managed the department’s Aetna Healthy Communities grant which promoted a subsidized GR:D Bike membership for Edison-Eastlake residents. 
Micah currently works in his hometown of Columbus, Ohio at an IT training and consulting firm, Babbage Simmel.  In November 2019 he will be moving to Haifa, Israel to begin working at the Bahá’í World Centre.  The Bahá’í World Centre is the spiritual and administrative center of the Bahá’í Faith (bahai.org), to which he belongs. The Bahá’í World Centre functions similar to a nongovernmental organization, representing the affairs of the worldwide Bahá’í community, with representative offices within the United Nations in New York and Geneva. ​Micah will work in the office of financial affairs. 

 

Ashley Henderson

Volunteer Phoenix Program Facilitator, ​City Manager's Office​​​​​​

Ashley served as an Engagement Coordinator for the Neighborhood Services Department, administering Love Your Block (LYB), Neighborhood College, and the Tomorrow’s Involved Leaders Today (T.I.L.T.) programs. During her year of service, she supported in completing 14 Love Your Block projects, getting 8 neighborhood groups through their workshops and ready to begin their projects, as well as coordinating the T.I.L.T. youth leadership program for 24 students. Ashley is a fourth generation Arizonan and enjoyed giving back to her community by working hands-on with Phoenix residents.
