Description:
Looking to make your grant application shine? Join us for an interactive workshop led by Sarah León, where we’ll break down what makes an application truly competitive. This session will go beyond the basics—exploring proven strategies, sharing real-world examples, and answering your most pressing questions in a dynamic FAQ format. You’ll walk away with practical tips, fresh insights, and the confidence to submit a proposal that stands out from the crowd.
Sarah León has been the Grants and Community Engagement Director at the Phoenix Office of Arts and Culture since 2018, and previously was an arts and culture liaison with the City of Seattle, a program director for a literary arts nonprofit, and a case manager for justice-involved youth in west Phoenix. Sarah holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Texas at Austin (2013).

Join us for a three-part series designed to strengthen partnerships and practices for arts education. These interactive sessions will explore strategies for collaboration, communication, and community engagement between teaching artists and organizations.
This series is led by Carolyn Hazel Drake, consultant and author of Best Practices Guide for Teaching Artists and Teaching Artists Quick Start Guide, and Dr. Mary McAvoy, co-facilitator for the professional development series.
