Artist Joseph McShane designed and fabricated the two kinetic light sculptures projected onto the library's entry wall and the ceiling of the building's second level.  Produced by rays of light refracting off the surfaces of slump-glass mirrors and onto the selected surfaces, the ephemeral sculptures consist of an ever-changing rainbow of colors and shapes.  The light needed to produce the works is tracked and brought to the site through the use of two hand-crafted heliostats mounted on the exterior of the library building.
