The evening will consist of poetry readings, a brief Q & A, and book signing with each poet.

The gathering highlights the value of poetry as a force for change and community building, as these poets collectively use poetry as a means of supporting marginalized populations while building bridges across their cities and beyond. The event is being held as part of National Poetry Month in April. National Poetry Month was inaugurated by the Academy of American Poets in 1996. Over the years, it has become the largest literary celebration in the world with schools, publishers, libraries, booksellers and poets celebrating poetry's vital place in our culture.
