At 6th Street and Butler Ave. artist, Barbara Grygutis and Landscape Architects, Dig Studio were asked to create a contemplative space to pass through or pass by that would improve security and the look of at the site as well as add shade and maintain the location for the Maricopa County Air Quality monitoring equipment that is housed at the site. Their solution is a true collaboration with the artist's sculpture acting conceptually as a funnel “gathering" water for the site, with a paved ribbon pathway extending from the sculpture through the shaded environment.  The art and low water use landscaping both make the site look better and serve to honor the importance of conserving water in the desert environment.
