The Dove Valley Park Sculpture public art project consists of two sculptural seating benches made of bronze, precast concrete, block and stucco on reinforced concrete foundations. Thirty plaques of Sonoran Desert flora and fauna are depicted in 15 piers along the sidewalk. The piers are also bronze, block and stucco on reinforced concrete.  Each bronze plaque is set at an angle with a flat design so chalk rubbings can be taken of the plant and animal motifs. The plaques play an educational role for residents and visitors who may not be familiar with the life in the Sonoran Desert. Landscaped berms rise to the meet the back of the sculptural seating. Three palo verde trees were planted in the vicinity of the benches to the west and south to provide shade and enhance the natural desert surroundings. Attentive park users may see a saguaro in the park immortalized in one of the plaques. At the correct viewing position, the bronze contours on the benches line up with Black Mountain and other mountains on the horizon to the north.
