Tyler mounted his sculptural obelisk atop masonry steps made with native stone and flagstone from northern Arizona. He inset the words PRIDE, HONOR and INTEGRITY into the risers of the steps.  The sculpture serves as a gateway to the Police Academy and celebrates the site's Sonoran Desert surroundings.​
