Zischke worked with the Deer Valley Pilot's Association to select the twenty-five planes represented in the sculpture's cut-outs.  The plaza surrounding the sculpture contains a flight map section showing the location of Deer Valley Airport. Sunlight projects the shapes of the planes onto the plaza map. The fifteen-foot-tall sculpture weighs 3,000 pounds. ​
