The bridge will provide a seamless, safe and comfortable connection for residents walking and biking. The bridge will generally follow the 3rd Street alignment.​ An in-person public meeting to provide a project update will be held​ July 9 at 5 p.m. in the Burton Barr Central Library Pulliam Auditorium (1st floor), 1221 N. Central Avenue. The Rio Salado Bicycle/Pedestrian Bridge will be funded thanks to a U.S. Department of Transportation RAISE grant. The grant was awarded to the city in August 2022 . The members are appointed by the Mayor and City Council.​​ The committee also includes non-voting members who are students from local high schools and colleges/universities. The meeting agenda, which includes instructions about how to participate virtually via phone or Webex, will be posted on the Public Meeting Notices webpage at least 24 hours in advance of the meeting date. ​*** Please note, meeting end time is approximate. ***​​​
