The Housing Department is responsible for making the necessary repairs to your unit and for maintaining electrical, plumbing, sanitary, heating and cooling units, ventilating and other equipment in safe working order.  Residents are responsible for reporting defects of any equipment owned by the city and any damages to the unit.

If you have a deficiency in your unit, you will need to call the work order desk at 602-256-3146 to place a service call.  Work order desk personnel are available to receive calls Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

After-hours Emergencies

If you have an emergency after our regular business hours, on the weekend, or on a holiday, you must call the After-hour Emergency telephone number: 602-290-8217.

If you call this number, you will hear a recorded message stating you have reached the After-hours Emergency telephone number for the Housing Department.  When prompted, it is important that you clearly state your name, address, telephone number and the nature of your emergency.  It is important that you leave a telephone number where you can be reached by the maintenance technician on-call.

Please be advised that you may be charged for the service call if it is not deemed an emergency or it is tenant-caused.

Lockouts

A lockout is not considered an emergency situation. When you lease a unit, you are issued at least two keys to prevent a lockout situation. If the lockout occurs during working hours a work order can be placed and maintenance staff will either make a duplicate key or respond and open the unit.  If the lockout occurs at night, you will need to wait until the following business day to place a work order for assistance. Should you choose to call the After-hours Emergency to request assistance, you may be charged for the service call.
