Mayor Kate Gallego, District 7 Councilmember Michael Nowakowski and District 8 Councilmember Carlos Garcia joined a small group of community members and city staff for a ceremonial grounbreaking event in Cesar Chavez Park. Construction of the 34,000-square-foot community center is
scheduled to begin in October and be completed by fall 2021.

District 7 Councilman Michael Nowakowski, District 8 Councilwoman Felicita Mendoza, and Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department staff invite community members to participate in a series of public meetings to discuss the proposed Cesar Chavez Community Center.
