Bus Rapid Transit

In addition to this safety project on 35th Avenue, City of Phoenix Public Transit is working on a plan to add the city's first Bus Rapid Transit corridor, which would also extend north on 35th Avenue. ​Phase 1: 35th Ave. from Camelback Rd. to Bethany Home Rd.


Description

This is a T2050 improvement project that includes the modific​ation of the intersections at 35th Avenue and Camelback Road and 35th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, as well as installing streetlights along the west side of the 35th Avenue between Camelback Road and Bethany Home Road.  The intersection modifications include installing a flashing yellow arrow and re-striping the intersections to improve safety for left turn movements.  Installation of new traffic signals and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) curb ramps will also be included at both intersections. ​

Phase 2: 35th Ave. from Bethany Home Rd. to Glendale Ave.

​Description

This is a Transportation 2050 (T2050) improvement project that includes upgrading the traffic signals at the intersections of 35th Avenue and Glendale Avenue, 35th Avenue and Rose Lane, and 35th Avenue and Maryland Avenue. Other improvements include streetlight installation and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant curb ramps between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue.​
