Mobility Area Description
Downtown Phoenix dominates this Mobility
Area. The growing Arizona State University Downtown Campus and the University
of Arizona Medical Campus have spurred tremendous development. Several cultural
and sports venues are located downtown, including the Arizona Science Museum,
Children’s Museum, Phoenix Symphony Hall, Comerica Theater, the historic
Orpheum Theatre, Phoenix Convention Center, Talking Stick Resort Arena (WNBA
Phoenix Mercury), and Chase Field (MLB Arizona Diamondbacks). ASU Preparatory
School (elementary) is the only elementary school in the Area, although Faith
North School (Montessori) is on the immediate east side. The only public park
in the Area is Civic Space Park, located next to Valley Metro Central Station
(bus and light rail).
