Description 

This project will construct sidewalk and street improvements along the south side of Pinnacle Peak Road from 45th Avenue to 35th Avenue, reconstruct the existing pavement and upgrade the existing storm drain system.  Prior to reconstruction of this section of Pinnacle Peak Road, the existing water main will be upgraded. The water main upgrade will allow for the installation of the new storm drain system and will minimize any future issues with the existing water distribution system.

Project Highlights​

  • New storm drain pipe, catch basins and box culvert crossings
  • New sidewalk, curb and gutter
  • New street lighting
  • Modernized traffic signals at 43rd Avenue and 39th Drive
  • Landscaping improvements
  • Water main replacement prior to construction of project improvements (completed!)

  • Improve pedestrian safety and connectivity
  • Improve the road condition

Project Status

  • Water main distribution construction is complete.
  • Construction has been completed. Striping is anticipated to be complete June 2023.

Anticipated Traffic Restrictions During Construction

  • During the first phase of construction, traffic will be routed to the north lanes with one lane of travel in each direction, west and east on Pinnacle Peak Road for about 4 months. 
  • After which traffic will be switched to the south lanes with one lane of travel in each direction, west and east.​​

A new, modernized traffic signal will be installed at 39th Drive and Pinnacle Peak Road.

​Pinnacle Peak Road looking eastbound at 39th Drive. New sidewalks will be added on the south side of the roadway.
