From Thursday, March 19 through Sunday, March 22. For public safety, certain hiking trails are restricted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
20th Street at Lookout Mountain Park Improvements
The City of Phoenix is constructing drainage improvements to alleviate reported flooding issues affecting properties around N. 20th St. at Lookout Mountain Park. These improvements are made possible through the Small Project Assistance Program funded by the City.
Project Features
Drainage and road improvement work in the project area will include:
- New storm drain pipes, manholes and catch basin
- Waterline realignments
- Roadwork graving and paving
- New curb, gutter, ramps and sidewalk replacement
Timeline
Construction will begin in March 2026 and last through June 2026
Detour Information
Access to Lookout Mountain Park and southbound traffic: N. 19th Way will be closed south of Seminole Drive. Local southbound traffic should detour via N. 19th Way to Vista Drive and E. Claire Drive to Cave Creek Rd.
Neighborhood traffic lanes south of Seminole Drive along N. 20th St. (see map) will be restricted to one lane.
What to Expect During Construction
Please walk, bike and drive with caution and be alert for work crews in the area.
- All access to residences will be maintained.
- Roads will remain open to local traffic only.
- Work is planned for daytime hours. Intermittent construction noise is expected.
- Parking restrictions, sidewalk closures and Lookout Mountainside Community gate access restrictions may periodically occur.
- Minimal water service disruption is planned during waterline work.
