Taniya Williams
Taniya holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science with a minor in Communications from Florida State University (FSU). Her interest in government began during her teenage years, inspired by the television series Scandal, which sparked her curiosity about politics and leadership. That interest deepened through hands-on experience as a Legislative Intern for the Florida House of Representatives and a Mentoring Specialist at the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice. These experiences enhanced her understanding of how public service impacts everyday life and fueled her commitment to a career in local government.
Taniya also gained experience in strategic communications through internships with the Palm Beach County Public Affairs Office and the Innocence Project of Florida, which focused on public engagement and media outreach. While completing her MPA, she supported student success initiatives as a Graduate Assistant and Teaching Assistant at FSU. She most recently worked as a Substitute Teacher for the Palm Beach County School District, continuing her commitment to education. With a strong foundation in public service, communication, and leadership, Taniya is excited to grow her career in government with the City of Phoenix.
