The City of Phoenix Community Assistance Program (CAP) partners with the ASU School of Social Work to host BSW and MSW interns for cohorts that begin in the fall and conclude in the spring semester.
The typical application window opens in March. Please check back for exact dates once the application period begins.
From Classroom to Community: What to Expect
Interns in the Community Assistance Program (CAP) serve in the Casework Aide role and receive paid hourly compensation.
As a CAP intern, you will:
- Work alongside Crisis Response Units, gaining hands-on experience supporting individuals in high-stress situations.
- Opportunities to observe and work with the Behavioral Health Units, on a case by case basis and dependent on operational needs.
- Develop case management skills by managing a small caseload.
- Receive weekly individual supervision from a CAP Field Instructor to support your professional growth.
