Cactus Park Precinct - GO Bond Project

On November 7, 2023 Phoenix voters passed the City Council approved $500 million General Obligation (GO) Bond Program. GO Bond programs help to fund critical infrastructure and rehabilitation needs of City facilities such as parks, libraries, fire and police stations, affordable housing, streets and storm drains. Approved projects will be prioritized and allocated over the five-year period of 2024-25 to 2028-29 and included in the annual Preliminary Capital Improvement Program (CIP) presented to City Council each spring.

On July 1, 2026 the City council approved a contract to with Arrington Watkins Architects, LLC to design a new state-of-the-art Cactus Park Precinct for Phoenix Police. Once designed the new facility will be constructed on a 12.5 acre lot located at 3035 West Thunderbird Road.

Construction is anticipated for 2027-2028 with project completion estimated for July 2029.

Project Scope

• Acquire land and construct a replacement Cactus Park Precinct. Planned components include a new precinct structure, a separate mechanic shop with an attached shooting range, fuel facilities, and solar covered parking spaces that will offset the facility's electrical usage. The existing precinct facility is anticipated to be demolished as part of the project.
