Launch of the Bird-Friendly Campaign

Join Audubon Southwest and the City of Phoenix for the launch of the Bird-Friendly PHX campaign this bird migration season!

Begin the evening with a stroll through the beautiful Rio Salado Audubon Center and enjoy refreshments along with light appetizers. Programming begins promptly at 6:00 p.m., when the 10-minute film Birds on the Move: Desert Rivers will be shown. The screening will also be followed by remarks from City and Audubon Southwest officials about what it means to make Phoenix a more bird-friendly city.

You’ll have an opportunity to sign the pledge to do your part to help birds this fall migration season and receive a beautiful poster designed by a local artist. Join us!

5:00-6:00 p.m.: Mingle, drink, eat, and stroll grounds at Rio Salado Audubon Center

6:00 p.m.: Erika Flores, Audubon Southwest and Rockies, invites guests to gather in program area for film screening of Birds on the Move: Desert Rivers and Bird Friendly PHX program

6:10 p.m.: Film plays

6:20 p.m.: Haley Paul, Audubon Southwest, speaks about the importance of migratory bird safety, conservation efforts, why the public matters in this

6:25 p.m.: Mayor Kate Gallego speaks about City’s commitment to migratory bird safety and why it matters, making Phoenix wildlife friendly

6:30 p.m.: Tricia Balluff, City of Phoenix Office of Environmental Programs, speaks about the initiative, what Phoenix is doing

6:35 p.m.: Haley, Erika, Tricia, Mayor Gallego and Councilmembers invited to come forward to sign the pledge and take photos

6:45 p.m.: Attendees encouraged to sign pledge

7:00 p.m.: Event concludes
